Ear Piercing

Ghanshyam Maharaj turned seven months. Bhaktimata thought it was time to have His ears pierced. Next morning she brought Ghanshyam outside the house. She sat under the ‘Ambli’ (Tamarind) tree. The ear piercer came with the needle and hastily, he stretched his arms to catch the ear of the Lord.

At that moment light beamed from the Lord's body. The light blinded the ear piercer. Wherever he looked, he saw nothing but light. Feeling afraid, he started to scream,. Instantly, Ghanshyam Maharaj resumed his normal form and there was no light.

Ghanshyam Maharaj disappeared from Bhaktimata’s lap. When His mother looked up He was sitting on top of one of the branches. Seeing this, she called Rampratapbhai. She told him to climb up and bring Ghanshyam down. When Rampratapbhai climbed up, he saw Ghanshyam sitting on Bhaktimata's lap. Rampratapbhai came down. When he approached Bhaktimata, he saw Ghanshyam on the tree. This went on for a while amazing the ear piercer.

Then, Ghanshyam came to his normal form and said, “Give me sweets to eat if you want to pierce my ear.”

Bhaktimata ordered some sweets and told Gbanshyam to sit properly if he wanted them. Thus Lord Ghanshyam’s ear was pierced while he was eating sweets.
