Monkey in Trance

Due to increasing cruelty of the demons (Asuras), Dharmadev decided to leave for Ayodhya from Chappaiya with his family. Placing their belongings on a well-decorated bull-cart, they started their journey to Ayodhya. On reaching river Saryu, they transferred their belongings to a boat and left for Ayodhya on the opposite bank of the river.

In Ayodhya they bought a beautiful house on Brahta Lane and settled there. In the evening, Ghanshyam sat with his father for dinner while His mother served them.
Seated on a tree, some monkeys saw Ghanshyam eating. "Hup… Hup" came one of them to the verandah where Ghanshyam was sitting. The monkey came and gulped around twenty chapatti’s and returned to the tree.

As he started to take a bite, Ghanshyam' s sight fell on the monkey. The monkey fell in a trance and forgot all about the chapattis. The monkey was in trance for almost three days.
On getting liberty, he came jumping to Ghanshyam. Joining his hands, he sat at the feet of Ghanshyam. Ghanshyam blessed him and gave him food. After taking the 'Prasad' and blessing the monkey returned back to the tree.
