The Ring
One morning Suvasini Bhabhi was working in the kitchen. She had kept her ring on the window sill next to her while moulding the dough. Ghanshyam entered the kitchen hoping that food will be ready, but on seeing that it wasn't ready, He silently ran off with the ring that Bhabhi had kept on the window sill.
He went straight to the sweet shop near His home. He gave the ring to the shop keeper and asked, “How many sweets will you give me in exchange for this ring?” The confectioner replied, “I will give half a kilo of sweets.” Ghanshyam said, “I can only give you this ring if you give me enough sweets to fill my stomach, or else I will go to another sweet shop for the sweets.”
Thinking that Ghanshyam won't be able to eat much and on top of that his own wife would be happy if he presented this expensive ring to her, he agreed with the offer Ghanshyam had given him. The shopkeeper started serving the sweets to Ghanshyam, who started eating and finished each plate in no time. The shopkeeper served all the sweets in his shop, but Ghanshyam still complained that His stomach was half full and ordered the shopkeeper to bring other sweets from the other sweet shops in town.
In no time, all the sweets were finished, but Ghanshyam still wasn't satisfied. He ordered for Ghee from the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper's wife brought a pot full of Ghee, Ghanshyam drank this just like water. By now the shopkeeper's home was emptied. He begged Ghanshyam for apology, “O Ghanshyam, You are The Lord Himself. Please forgive me. I beg for mercy. I don't anything else left in my house. I promise that I would never be greedy as he have been today.” Hearing this, Ghanshyam cleaned Himself and walked home. Reaching home, He saw that everybody was waiting for Him. Bhabhi on seeing Ghanshyam asked Him if he had seen her ring to which Ghanshyam said “No.” Icchharam interrupted and said that he had. “I saw Ghanshyam taking the ring.” Dharmadev asked Ghanshyam where He had kept the ring? Ghanshyam took them to the sweet shop.
He asked the confectioner to give back the ring to which he refused saying that Ghanshyam had eaten all his sweets. Ghanshyam said, “Father, he is lying. His shop is full of sweets.” Dharmadev entered the shop and saw that the shop was really full of sweets. The shop keeper again begged for pardon from Ghanshyam and Dharmadev. They returned home and handed back the ring to Suvasini Bhabhi.
