Fishes Back to Life
One day Ghanshyam called his friends, Veni, Madhav, Prag and said, “Let's go to the river for a swim.” The four children went to the river. At the river, near a tall tree, they all started to remove their clothes. At that time, Ghanshyam's eyes caught sight of a fisherman who was fishing.
The black tall fisherman was standing along the riverbed. He kept all the fishes he caught in a basket. Ghanshyam's eyes fell on the pile of the dead fishes. When He saw the dead fishes, He felt pity on them. He decided to make all the dead fishes come back to life. After a short time they all became alive and started to jump back into the river.
When the fisherman saw this he became very angry. He went forward to Ghanshyam to beat Him up. Ghanshyam stood there and thought for a while. A prideful person's pride must be broken. One who does violence must be punished. Therefore, Ghanshyam, took the form of Yamraj and went forward to attack the fisherman.
Suddenly, when the fisherman saw Ghanshyam in the form of Yamraj, he stood there very still. His hands and legs started shaking. His body was wet with sweat. At that time the fisherman was shown the difficulties and troubles of hell, At last he knew that the reason why He was beaten so badly by the Yampuri.
Yampuri beat him until his bones were broken and he could not stand up. He shouted for help and in the end he realized that he had killed those fishes for no reason and was punished for it.
At that time he asked for forgiveness, “My bones are broken. When I think of Yampuri and hell I feel, I am no more and I start to worry. My Ijmbs start to shake; So please forgive me for my mistakes. From now on, I will never try to kill any fishes and I would close down the business of killing fishes and selling them. You are our God, please forgive my sins.” Saying this, he fell to the: feet of Ghanshyam.
Ghanshyam gave him blessings and allowed him to go home. Ghanshyam and his friends had a bath in the river and then returned back home.
